Wedding: Mara & Matthias – 26/09/2015

Fulda is a nice baroque town in the east of Hesse which indicates a noble place for a wedding.
Matthia’s and Mara’s wedding was like that and fun to me. The atmosphere, people  and location were just great! Thank you!

Maybe I’m the one who covers YOUR wedding next! Just send me your inquiry!

Matthias smiled at me when I met him at the entrance to the Schlossgarten waiting for his soon-to-be-wife Mara. There were other wedding shootings going on that day and each photographer had a bigger setup than the other. I decided to keep it simple to create high-class images – Nikon Speedlights, RadioPoppers, a Lastolite softbox, my Nikon D3 and Nikon lenses from 24 mm to 600 mm.
The Schlossgarten was a killer background I really wished for for a wedding shoot and there it was in combination with that harmonic and lovely bridal couple! “Hold on! Please act here an be yourself. Keep in mind: “There is NO photographer and no one around – there’s just you both.” Fantastic! That’s how everyone feels comfortable. 🙂

Later, Matthias had a surprise: He booked a classic car an old Bentley that should park in front of the Maritim Orangerie. As you can see, Mara liked this idea, too. 🙂Wedding: Mara & Matthias

After taking the images at the Schlossgarten in Fulda it was time to drive to Bad Salzschlirf for the ceremony. Yes, it’s the town where Elena and Andreas had their wedding earlier this year – home match! I was glad to hear from the priest himself that he really appreciated my thoughtful acting during their ceremony. I enjoyed the speech that always tells so much about your clients that helps you to create even more emotional photos on that day. Wedding: Mara & Matthias

After the ceremony: Back to Fulda! The city was full that day and a big traffic jam took me 30 minutes extra to get to the Maritim hotel where cocktail hour, reception and party should be. As always I make an image of the room before setting up the lights. Yeah, the “Yellow Ballroom” was noble! That’s what I expected after the Bentley shot. 🙂 Wedding: Mara & Matthias
Congratulations! Their first dance. Wedding: Mara & Matthias

Let’s celebrate! Here comes the wedding-cake!Wedding: Mara & MatthiasWhat a wonderful wedding, I loved it!
Thanks Mara & Matthias!

Hamburg

This weekend I traveled to Hamburg – visiting my friend Doreen to celebrate her birthday. Have been in Hamburg two years ago I was glad to have the opportunity to be here again. I had a walk through the city and checked in for Sushi at “Sushi Circle” before Doreen’s birthday starts. Hanseatic feeling – a city that I really like because it’s so colorful and has so much culture. Everything was great – the atmosphere in the city and the atmosphere at the party. I really missed having that kind of people around me talking about music and stuff and listening to Doreen’s fantastic playlist that had new and old songs. It brought to me a good old feeling. Life is good.
Here are a few of my Hamburg impressions.DSC_2554_b_c_72px

Viking Style Wedding – Anja & Maurice – 22/08/2015

Anja’s and Maurice’s wedding was very awesome and special. I liked it a lot.
After their photographer cancelled they were looking for a replacement. Thanks to my friend Sabrina they found me and I had the pleasure to cover a gorgeous wedding in Bavaria.
Anja and Maurice are big fans of the dark age and so they celebrated in a special dark age style. Because they are living their interest so many things like the clothes, shoes and accessoires were homemade. The food was authentic – venison and drinking out of horns etc. The ceremony was a highlight with viking rites and an especially written text that told Anja’s and Maurice’s story in this old language style.  For the bridal portraits Anja and Maurice had chosen the woods. What better place had there been as the woods? Great! Thank you Anja and Maurice for having me as your photographer! I enjoyed it very much! See a few impressions below.

Maybe I’m the one who covers your wedding next! Just send me your booking request!

The 25 Years German Unity 2015 Ceremony in Frankfurt

On the 3rd of October Germany celebrates its Day of Unity. This year we celebrated 25 years of German Unity. This anniversary was hosted by Frankfurt a. M. which is the biggest city nearby. I took that as an opportunity to visit this city with its two architectural faces again after years, having Sushi at Sushiedo’s and meeting a few people – like Riaz from Sydney, Australia or regional neighbors from places around.

The event took place at the Mainufer in Frankfurt. Every federal state presented itself with a booth, food and information about it.
Frankfurt expects over a one million visitors this weekend and it was really crowded yesterday.
Yesterdays highlight was a 900,000 Euro expensive light show and firework on the Untermainbrücke (a bridge) in the evening paired with a multi media installation that showed parts of the German unity in sound and vision.
When the light show started the whole place was closed because there were so many spectators.

I was very glad to celebrate this important day of German history with hundred thousands of people yesterday.

Here are a few impressions.Frankfurt a.M. - Main River and Frankfurt Skyline

Viking Wedding: Anja & Maurice

Many thanks Anja and Maurice for that awesome Viking wedding I was allowed to cover for you!
It was a wonderful atmosphere with delicious Viking like food – especially the roast wild boar. 🙂
I was happy to come back to Munich and Bavaria in general to meet a lot of nice people who supported you and had fun to celebrate your big day!
AND: Thank you VEEEERY MUCH, Sabrina for suggesting me as a potential wedding photographer for Anja and Maurice – it was fun and I’m really thankful you thought of me! 🙂

More images will follow later this week.

Viking style wedding ahead!

Yeah, I’m gettin’ ready for an upcoming wedding in the Augsburg and Munich area, Bavaria on Saturday – which will be a Viking style wedding! I’m pretty excited about that because it’ll be my first time Viking wedding!

Fortunately my new NIKON Nikkor AF-S 28/1.8 lens arrived today. I’m pretty impressed by this small lightweight plastic China lens by Nikon! It’s pretty sharp for a cheap consumer lens (read Ryan Brenizer’s review on that lens here).  I’ll use it for dance floor shots and tight action shots on Saturday. So stay tuned for the results.

Hopefully I’ll be able to present you a few impressions of Elena’s & Andy’s wedding from last Saturday during the next week.

More to come …

Wedding: Elena & Andreas

Wow, what a wonderful wedding yesterday! Elena and Andreas did their very best to arrange this event of love of their life. I was really impressed by the atmosphere. It was always this happiness in the air that we all wish for a wedding. Also a fantastic venue and great weather (although the forecast said it would be raining – fortunately it didn’t) – and of course a lovely bride and groom, family and friends. I don’t know what more is needed for a wonderful wedding …
Thank you very much Elena and Andreas for this awesome day! 🙂

We had joy, we had fun ...

Wedding Eve: Elena & Andreas

Wow, I’m still flashed by Elena’s and Andy’s wedding eve party tonight! CONGRATS! 🙂
I’m really looking forward to their wedding on Saturday. Hardly can wait …

Upcoming Weddings

Hi there!

Wouhou, it’s wedding season! I love it! So much interaction with great people and a bunch to organize, plan, arrange and shoot.

AUGUST: Elena & Andreas

In August I will cover the wedding of Elena and Andreas at their hometown Bad Salzschlirf which is a cozy health resort near Fulda, Germany.

They chose a great venue – the Hotel Badehof in Bad Salzschlirf which has a really awesome interior.

Hotel Badehof

We already made the engagement shooting in April which was fun and promised to result in a happy wedding day. Last arrangements and plannings are running at full blast and the eve-of-wedding party is just a few weeks ahead. Seems to be a “mords Gaudi”! 🙂

SEPTEMBER: Mara & Matthias

Mara and Matthias I met a few weeks ago. A really harmonic couple that has great ideas for their wedding day. They will be engaged in September.
I believe that the upcoming engagement shoot in the end of July will be gorgeous followed by an awesome wedding day!
Mara and Matthias will celebrate their wedding at two places – while the ceremony will take place in the church of Bad Salzschlirf, the reception will be in the Maritim hotel in Fulda – which is an awesome place for such an event.
