The 25 Years German Unity 2015 Ceremony in Frankfurt

On the 3rd of October Germany celebrates its Day of Unity. This year we celebrated 25 years of German Unity. This anniversary was hosted by Frankfurt a. M. which is the biggest city nearby. I took that as an opportunity to visit this city with its two architectural faces again after years, having Sushi at Sushiedo’s and meeting a few people – like Riaz from Sydney, Australia or regional neighbors from places around.

The event took place at the Mainufer in Frankfurt. Every federal state presented itself with a booth, food and information about it.
Frankfurt expects over a one million visitors this weekend and it was really crowded yesterday.
Yesterdays highlight was a 900,000 Euro expensive light show and firework on the Untermainbrücke (a bridge) in the evening paired with a multi media installation that showed parts of the German unity in sound and vision.
When the light show started the whole place was closed because there were so many spectators.

I was very glad to celebrate this important day of German history with hundred thousands of people yesterday.
